Our founder, Erin Gore, was featured in this morning's Today Show story about the coming together of wine and cannabis in Sonoma County. Along with our amazing partners, Tawnie Logan of SCGA and Cameron Hattan of Fiddler's Greens, the Today Show featured the synergies and opportunities for both industries. - What caused you to get into cannabis?
A couple of years ago, I had to have two separate hip surgeries. At the time, a friend mentioned the therapeutic benefits of cannabis and I was intrigued. Up until that point, I had never considered it, recreationally or otherwise. I tried it and was amazed at how therapeutic it was for me, and how much better the rest of me felt compared to the prescription alternatives.
It wasn’t until my high-stress job had me traveling all over the world (all while I was launching a business on the side!) that I really fell in love with this magical plant. While on the surface it may have looked like I had it all together, I was really struggling within myself to balance my career, my side business, being a community volunteer, a wife, a friend, a sister, an auntie, everything – just like all of the other women out there who are constantly being pulled in so many different directions. I knew I needed to better balance my life, but I also knew that I didn’t want that help from traditional pharmaceuticals.
Cannabis helped me when I needed it the most – it gave me a reprieve from all of the stresses that were fighting for my attention. It guaranteed me a good night’s sleep when I needed it the most, allowing me to feel great the next day so I could tackle the next thing on my to-do list.
